The “Passenger Experience” with EU Airport Security Study.

“Recent data indicates a significant rise in reported incidents of discriminatory security checks within the Schengen area, with Germany specifically recording a record number of discrimination complaints in 2024. As border and airport controls intensify, reports of ‘suspicionless checks’ have nearly doubled, raising urgent questions about the prevalence of ethnic profiling. This survey aims to move beyond the statistics by gathering first-hand passenger experiences, helping to uncover the human reality behind these growing trends.”

This brief effectively validates the participant’s experience by acknowledging that the issue is systemic and backed by data, which often encourages higher engagement and more detailed responses.
